Wetaskiwin and region residents thinking about fall and winter

Ted Eden of the Wetaskiwin Theatre Society is hard at work registering folks for the season’s new programs.

The grass is still green. Very few leaves are falling. Yet hundreds of Wetaskiwin and region residents were thinking about fall and winter the evening of September 5th. It was the annual Community Learning Council’s launch of their Fall and Winter Program Guide and hosting of the annual Spring Parade of Programs. Community groups representing athletic clubs, arts, culture and educational opportunities, gathered in the Drill Hall to display their products and services. During the evening people took advantage of this opportunity to talk to instructors, program providers,

and discover all there is to do during the fall season

Residents of Wetaskiwin and region look forward to the Parade of Programs every spring and fall. The evening event is hosted by the Community Learning Council to provide a one-stop-shopping opportunity for the entire family to see what new programs and services are being offered, and to register for clubs, programs and activities. Instructors and other people responsible for the activities were available to answer any questions and describe their programs and services in more detail.

Charleen Schnick, Executive Director of the Community Learning Council circulated through the displays greeting people and ensuring both displayers and guests were accommodated. The CLC display sported the shiny guide that is produced in cooperation with the City of Wetaskiwin. “We are working with the City of Wetaskiwin to promote activities and events in Wetaskiwin and region.” The Activity Guide was distributed throughout the community and provides detailed information about courses and programs, the instructors, cost, dates and location.
