New Playground Demonstrates Alberta Recycling Program
Friday, September 28, 2012
The Summer Village of Grandview recently celebrated the Grand Opening of their new playground in Hamblin Park. Minister Diana McQueen, Mayor Don Davidson and Councillor Kim Armstrong cut the ribbon to officially open the playground on September 2, 2012.
The pour in place surface of the playground was partially funded by a Municipal Demonstration Grant through Alberta Recycling. By installing this surface, the community ensured that approximately 10,800 scrap tires were kept out of landfill and recycled into a useful product.
Children from all over the area congregated at the Park to enjoy the new equipment, play games, eat cake and just have fun!
