Leduc Comp girls defeated Sturgeon 43 to 34
On Monday December 3rd all the local high school basketball teams kicked off their seasons. The girls were successful in winning all their games as Leduc Comp girls defeated Sturgeon 43 to 34, Christ the King (CTK) edged Fort Saskatchewan 26 to 24 and Beaumont rolled over Ardrossan 68 to 48. All three games were exhibition contests giving the girls a good idea of how much work as to be done before league play begins on Monday December 17th. Three more exhibition games are scheduled before league play begins.
Meanwhile the Leduc Comp boys were the only successful team among the boys. They dismantled Sturgeon 89 to 71 in their first Premier Conference game. The CTK boys and Beaumont were not as successful. Fortunately the games were exhibition and will not contribute to their City Conference standings.
The CTK boys battled throughout the game but when the dust had settled Fort Saskatchewan had eked out a slim 66 to 65 victory. Meanwhile the Beaumont Bandits had difficulty in finding their basket as Ardrossan was able to score at will winning 71 to 29.
CTK and Beaumont boys will continue with exhibition games until Monday December the 17th when the City Conference will begin.
