High School Basketball Resumes

After a two-week layoff due to the holidays the high school basketball season resumes this week. However with the coming of exams the season will be interrupted again after only ten days and then a second break will occur until the end of January.
As 2013 begins all of the area’s teams find themselves at or near the bottom of league standings. The Leduc Composite Boys team is only one of two 3A schools playing in the Premier Conference and played the other 3A team, St Albert, on Wednesday for the first time. Meanwhile both the Christ the King (CTK) and Beaumont are looking for their first win in the City Conference. The two teams face each other on Monday, Feb 4th at CTK beginning at 5:00pm.
In girls play the Beaumont Bandits sit in fourth place with a one win and one lost record while both CTK and Leduc Composite are still winless in league play. One of the teams will break into the win column this week as they faced each other on Wednesday.
