Longest Park in North America

From left to right; Devon Councillor Grant Geldart, Leduc County Councillor Jocelyn Mackay, Mayor of Devon Anita Fisher, and Leduc County Mayor John Whaley proudly display a map of the $90 million dollar River Valley Alliance Capital Project that is set to begin this year. Seven different municipalities contributed to the planning of this new recreation project which will stretch from Devon through to Fort Saskatchewan. The plan is to increase access to the river valley by adding new trails and features, boat docks and launches, a pedestrian footbridge in Edmonton and mechanized access to a waterfront promenade in Edmonton. This will make an 88km long Capital Region River Valley Park System that will be the longest metropolitan park in North America. Photo kindly supplied by Leduc County.
