Whew! These last few months have been busy! In January we had some “fun days”. That’s where we have a lot of activities planned out and different clubs participate. They were lots of fun. We also went to the Camrose Bull Congress on January 19. We learned farm related judging lessons. In February we had a few things happening.
On Feb 7, 8, & 9 we went skiing in Jasper. While skiing no one got seriously hurt, other than hitting small trees and crashing into each other! We had lots of fun. Our monthly meeting was held on Feb 13.
Our Public Speaking was on Feb 18 at the Alder Flats Legion. There were 2 juniors, 6 intermediates, and 3 seniors. Cole Schwengler won 1st place and Cheyenne Schwengler won 2nd place in the Juniors. For the Intermediates, Miranda Wirch won 1st place, Jessica Dalke 2nd place, and Amy Seely won 3rd place. Jacob Parker won 1st place, Dawna-Jean Wicklund won 2nd and Kayla Leeder won 3rd for the Seniors.
We congratulate all the speakers. The Cleaver Kids also spoke about something they came up with. They did awesome! We thank our judges for coming out and judging for us on the Family Day holiday. Zones Public Speaking were held on Feb 24 at the Hoadley Hall.
District Public Speaking is on March 10 at Crestomere School. Our next meeting is on March 6 at the Alder Flats Hall.
Leduc 4-H Cystic Fibrosis Fundraiser
Monika Knull - Club Reporter
On March 1, 2013 the Leduc 4-H Beef Club set out on our journey to raise money for Cystic Fibrosis. Our club raised MORE than we did last year totaling in at $2430.18!!!
We were stationed in the following businesses in Leduc; Canadian Tire, Sobeys the Leduc Mall and Safeway. We made lots of progress and a HUGE thanks goes out to EVERYONE that took a few minutes out of their day to donate to such a worthy cause! You don’t know how much your donation helped to save millions of kids with CF including Carter! THANK YOU SO MUCH!! And also to our 4-H members AWESOME job at fundraising! We all played an important role in helping Carter and other kids out there! Carter was so excited!
All of this money now, we will be giving to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and they will be helping millions of kids! We hope to continue fundraising for CF and helping out! We hope to see you next year donating! Thank you!
Now just a reminder that our next meeting will be March 11, 2013 at 7:00. See you there!
