Love is one of the most important, and one of the most misunderstood aspects of life.  It is at the centre of every relationship.  There are a number of kinds of love.  Lets consider the broad picture.
    Love is a magical, marvelous emotion, celebrated recently on Valentine's Day as well as in story, song, and all types of drama.  This is romantic love, proclaimed as the be all and end all of pop culture.  It is even said to make the world go round.
    Love is much more.
    Love is having as much care and concern for our families, friends, neighbours and enemies as we have for ourselves.  It is being kind, treating others as we would want them to treat us, treating others as they want us to treat them.
    Love is much more.
    Love is a choice to treat others with kindness, appreciation, acceptance, affirmation, honour, respect, and honest vulnerable communication even when we don't feel like it, especially when we don't feel like it.
    Love is much more.
    Love is an attribute of God, Father and Son and Holy Spirit.  God loves and accepts us as we are, but loves us too much to leave us as we are.  He knows us better than we know ourselves, knows what is best for us, and wants what is best for us. 
    Love is still more.
    Love is seeking to know and love God so much that we find our greatest joy and delight in our love relationship with Him.  Then, secure in His love, we are enabled to let God love others through us.
    Love is all this, and probably even more. Growing in love is also a suitable observation of Lent.
